It must have been easy for the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award this year's prize to Juan Manuel Santos. No one like him has this year appeared as a "peace advocate", which is what Alfred Nobel demands. Santos was on my list of candidates this year repeatedly. That the committee also recognizes the role of "all parties involved", including FARC leader Tymoshenko and the many victims of the long violence, is only fair and reasonable. Peace processes are always multifaceted. Former Colombian presidents and years of US military intervention have their brethren of victims and blood on their consciences. . .
