No Nato base in Georgia

Of: Marita Isaksen Wangberg An article in the previous issue of Ny Tid gave the impression that NATO was building a base in Georgia. This is not correct. NATO adopted the so-called "Georgia Package" at the Wales Summit in September 2014. This is a clear expression of Allied support to the country, through technical support to selected parts of Georgia's defense sector. The Georgia package involves various activities within capacity building, as well as practice and training. The activities will also contribute to an increased degree of cooperation between the Georgian. . .
