For centuries, the distinction between rich and poor has led to polarization and experiences of lack of self-sufficiency. This is reproduced to this day in the divide between Oslo East and Osle West. What is it like growing up in Oslo today? How do the young people handle class differences? What prejudices exist? Why do we think we are different? Are we as different as we think?

The Norwegian Photographic Journal (NJP) is a result of the collaboration with the Fritt Ord Foundation, and is an extension of the foundation's work to promote Norwegian documentary photography. The purpose of this initiative is to strengthen the genre's conditions in Norway, and to ensure that Norwegian documentary photographers reach a wide audience internationally.
