Sweden one step closer to NATO membership

NATO FLIRT: The dust from the NATO exercise Trident Juncture has barely settled before the military exercise Northern Wind is held in Sweden. Frustrated Swedish peace workers see the exercise as another step towards joining NATO.

"Northern Wind" – an exercise on NATO's terms?

"As long as we are part of NATO, we must use our position to take a clear stand against armaments and war incitement," said Marianne Gulli in Rødt, who believes Norway should stay at home under Northern Wind.

Mobilizes before Norway's largest military exercise

: Several mobilization meetings are now being organized against the NATO exercise Trident Juncture around Norway. "There is an increasing build-up of militarism in Europe, and it is dangerous," one of the peace activists told Ny Tid.

: The rearmament of the Nordic region as a military player to be reckoned with is in full swing – and thus drives up tensions between countries.
