The murder of Palme

"The Swedish police belong to the lost generation," says Swedish criminologist and professor Leif GW Persson. This he lays down with the fact that while the police are given more resources, productivity, ie the clearance rate, decreases.
What brought the Palme case to the forefront? There were a number of things that we are going to highlight here. Today we can say with great certainty that the murder will never be solved. That is, not fully resolved. This despite the fact that it is the largest murder investigation in the world. It is bigger than the JFK and Lockerbie case.

Several public commissions (4) have investigated the investigation. Among the things pointed out are the following:
1. After the killing, national alarms were sent out too late. Exit veins from Sweden were not blocked.
2. The police alarm center sailed during the initial phase, giving the killer a head start of 3 – 4 minutes from the scene. Then the same alarm center failed to organize the killer hunt properly.
3. The scene was not investigated by forensics as it is supposed to be done.
4. The nearest area around the site was not scanned properly and thoroughly (for example, by "door knocking").
5. A phantom image was produced of the killer made on failing terms.
6. No competent investigator was appointed to lead the work.
7. Many important clues, tips and testimonials were ignored.
8. Great resources were put into investigating people unrelated to the murder.
9. A confrontation was arranged with Lisbeth Palme 2 ¾ years after the murder, where Christer Pettersson stood out in the line-up.
10. The murder was notified, but this was ignored.
11. The protection around Palme was built down. On the day of the murder he was without protection at all.
This is just one of the reasons for the tragedy and the failure of the investigation.

A track has appeared in the Swedish press several times. An old track – the "police track". Forces in Swedish police were forces behind the murder. This is likely. Before Professor Persson mentioned, people with previous ties to the prime minister's own bodyguard force were involved. So these were people in the security police, SÄPO. But the plot had branches abroad. Most certainly to South Africa. This emerged in 1996, during questioning in the Truth Commission after the collapse of the apartheid regime. On the basis of advance warnings, there is also reason to suspect the CIA.

The murder was notified

There are two well-known, and confirmed, notices of an impending assault on Olof Palme. It first came on February 8, 1986. That day, a Russian-Yugoslav man, Ivo von Birchen, stated that a few weeks earlier, CIA agent Charles Morgan had tried to hire him to murder Palme. Von Birchen told this to an official at the Stockholm Citizens' Council. The story was later confirmed by both the official and his superior.
Von Birchen also contacted the security police SÄPO and told about Charles Morgan. This is confirmed by the security police, but says this happened only after the murder.
Barely two weeks later, on February 20, 1986, just over a week before the killing, a well-known right-wing extremist Anders Larsson filed a letter with the text "Olof Palme death" both to the Swedish Foreign Ministry and to the Government Chancellor Rosenbad. SÄPO knows about both Larsson and the alert, but does nothing. Despite the fact that there were engraving information about Larsson. Larsson is not even questioned.
They do not convey their knowledge to the police investigating the murder. Larsson's warning first comes the Palmeetter researchers in her August 15, 1987! Larsson is then questioned for the first time, but apparently mostly for the sake of duty. Afterwards, the case slips into nothing, as most of the case did.
What remains is this: Several people knew about the conspiracy, including Anders Larsson. He gets cold feet and gives a warning. SÄPO shows humility by touching their hands and doing nothing. Besides, they are lying. In doing so, they are accomplices.

South Africa

Already on March 11, 1986, Swedish murder investigators received information that South African agents might be behind the killing. The following day, the Swedish UN ambassador Anders Ferm wrote a memorandum describing how South Africa had the motive for murdering the Swedish prime minister. Before the attack, Palme stepped up his criticism of apartheid. A conference was held by the ANC in Stockholm where Palme gave one of his most flaming speeches. This was a few days before he was murdered. There is reason to believe that South African agents from their secret service (BOSS) were in place at this time in Sweden. BOSS and the CIA had close ties. Back in 1962, tips from the CIA made Nelson Mandela arrested and placed near for 30 years on Robben Island.
In the fall of 1996, South African agents explained themselves to the Truth Commission, which was set up to settle the past. Several of these, including Peter Caselton, then said that South Africa was behind the Palme murder. He named killers who had been in Stockholm and entered into the plot Two names given are Craig Williamson, as well as an agent Coeetze. These must have been in Stockholm on February 28, 1986. Williamson is suspected of having spotted at Palme's apartment in Old Town in the time before the murder.
The information caused the temperature around the killing to rise. Swedish investigators were forced to make the trip to South Africa. This seems to be just for the sake of it. They seemed to come home empty-handed. Then we have to ask: What interest did South African agents have in lying about the murder of Olof Palme? Answer: Of course no one!
There is also reason to believe that the CIA through South Africa (BOSS) was involved in the murder of Palme.
The arrangement around the murder of Olof Palme was classic:
There were motives (s), the murder was notified, while security measures around Palme were eased or disappeared altogether. Thus, Palme can leave his residence and stroll out of Stockholm where the killer (s) are waiting.

disinformation

A lot of disinformation was posted in the Palme investigation. Key keywords are Gunnarsson, PKK and Christer Pettersson. Gunnarsson and Pettersson were "lonely madmen" who tried to impose the murder. The PKK was also a handy organization to blame, without necessarily pointing out any specific killer. The treatment of Gunnarsson was criticized. He could not be associated with the murder in any way. Still, he had police for three years. Eventually, he traveled to the United States where he was murdered. There were no clues that pointed to the PKK. It was all spins and fantasies in Hans Holmér's head.
The case against Christer Pettersson is beyond everything. Both evidence and testimony do not resemble the pig. Reliable testimony from the scene and the movie Grand shows that Pettersson could not be a perpetrator. He is also not identical with the so-called "Grand Man". That it is not Pettersson is found by looking at the suspect's clothing, hat and other characteristics. Christer Petterson never used a coat, he never used a hat and he didn't have glasses. These three simple things exclude Christer Pettersson as perpetrator. Some Swedish police ignored. They built up prosecution based on totally worthless designation by Lisbeth Palme (She was obviously in shock and panicked). As well as from notorious criminals, alcoholics, drug addicts and psychopaths. Swedish police are, as we know, right-wing. In addition, the Palme case shows that they are incompetent. And what's worse, they're corrupt too!

Christer Pettersson was sentenced in the District Court in August 1989. Sentence: Life imprisonment. (3-2 among the judges). In November 1989, Pettersson was acquitted in the High Court. In connection with the acquittal, the court states: The identifications are not reliable. In addition, Pettersson is disabled and abuses both alcohol and drugs. This contradicts that he should commit such a criminal act as the one in question. He has no motives for such a thing. As far as is known, Pettersson has never been guilty of the kind of violence in question.
A claim by the Attorney General regarding the raising of the case in the Supreme Court in 1997 is rejected.
The decisions of the High Court and the Supreme Court prevent a murder of justice.
What else can be said about Christer Pettersson as a possible perpetrator? There is no technical evidence linking him to the deed. He had no weapons and was not used to using them. All alleged sightings of Pettersson at the scene are made afterwards. Or is vertical lying. Last but not least: Pettersson did not have the capacity to commit the crime.
Many people believe that Christer Pettersson is the killer. This, we know, is a false opinion. There is a lie in circulation by Swedish police, the judiciary and journalists.

Who killed Palme? South Africa (BOSS) was involved, the CIA was involved (through BOSS), Swedish SÄPO, and some extreme right-wing elements in other Swedish police were involved. It is subsequently illuminated that in the years 1981 – 87 Swedish policemen frequently visited and vacationed in South Africa. Six Stockholm police officers were identified in this context. Here we may be close to the core of the plot.

The Swedish television program Striptease interviewed on 27 April 1994 a certain Karl Bäck, former secretary general of the Civil Defense Association. Bäck could tell that he was contacted shortly after the murder by a person who stayed in England. This person states that the following is behind the murder: A conspiracy of Swedish businessmen, South African security service and someone affiliated with SÄPO. The television program entails a formal police interview by Bäck. He then states that the man in England who contacted was a British citizen. He had his information from the British intelligence service MI6. MI6 pointed to South Africa, SÄPO and other Swedish policemen.

The so-called Palme group investigating the murder has not been abducted. What they are doing today is archiving tips that are constantly dripping in about the murder. Believing in an explanation is like believing in Santa. The reason for this lies in things we have pointed out. It is convenient to prosecute a heavy drug addict from Rotebro, a suburb of Stockholm. And then build up under myths that hold the beliefs equal. (Christer Pettersson died in the fall of 2004).

A scenario

What exactly happened on February 28, 1986?
Olof Palme's apartment in the Old Town has been kept under surveillance for a while. In the evening on Friday, February 28, he and his wife will be shadowed from the Grand Cinema apartment. When the prime minister is to be shot is assessed on an ongoing basis. There is no opportunity until Palme enters the cinema. During the movie "Brothers Mozart", the cinema is kept under the supervision of the conspirators. The so-called "Grand – man" that many have seen is part of the conspiracy. He is not the killer but one of his aides.
The conspirators are equipped with walkie-talkie and keep each other informed about the prime minister's movements (Several observations of people with walkie-talkie were made). When Olof and Lisbeth Palme say goodbye to their son Mårten and his fiancée outside the Grand Theater at 23.15, Olof Palme has about 6 minutes to live.
The conspirators observe that the married couple Palme goes south on Sveavägen. Again they are shadowed. There is talk in the walkie – talkie. A sharpshooter is positioned at the Dekorima corner at the intersection of Sveavägen and Tunnelgatan. At 23.21, the sniper fires up the back of Palme and fires a shot. It is precisely delivered, hits vital internal organs (head ulcer, trachea and spine), making it fatal. Two seconds later, the second shot is fired at Lisbeth, but this only strikes the target.
The shots are most likely fired from a Smith and Wesson caliber 0.357. The bullets used are metal-breaking, they can penetrate a bulletproof vest. This points to a professional perpetrator and a well-planned murder.
Then the killer runs into Tunnelgatan, up a flight of stairs to Brunkebergsåsen, and then into David Bagare's street. Here the safe traces of the man disappear.
Who shot? The man is Swedish, formerly employed by SÄPO, or in the police. He is a pocket celebrity in Stockholm. He probably has a cover apartment near the scene, perhaps in David Bagare's street. There he seeks refuge for the murder (perhaps for several days). The man acted according to instructions from BOSS / CIA. The murder team was not large, probably 3 – 4 men.
In conclusion: The murder was unusually precise and professionally carried out.

This article is an abridged version of a longer article on the same topic.
