For non-logged in users

We use cookies to make the online newspaper more user-friendly and to gain insight into developing the online newspaper (see below for more detailed information). All information is anonymized. You can restrict data storage using "incognito mode" in browsers or set "do not track" in your browser settings.

For subscribers

For paper subscription we need information name, address, postal code and post office to deliver the newspaper. We also need an email address to send payment information, receipts and to subscribe my subscribers to my account, where subscribers can change subscription details (delivery address, billing address, form of payment, length, termination, restart). If you would like a subscription without My Page, contact us at abo@nytid.no.

For digital subscribers, we need a name and email address for login.

If you wish after a subscription has ended, we will delete your mentioned data within 26 months. All this data stored about your user and customer relationship is available on yours account.

data Processing

Delivery of paper newspapers is handled by Helthjem AS. Card payment is handled via Stripe. Other subscription (separate invoice) by MODERN TIMES. No card information is stored at MODERN TIMES.

Newsletters

We send newsletters to those who have signed up for it. The newsletter is sent via the third party Substack. Personal data here is deleted when you unsubscribe from the newsletter.

Data protection

All communications on the page are encrypted. Any information that can be anonymized is anonymized. We use firewalls, secure logins, regular site and database scans, and various other measures to prevent data leaks and ensure that personal data is not used for anything other than that provided herein.

Cookies

We will use cookies to make the online newspaper more user-friendly and gain insight into developing the online newspaper. We also use cookies for login, user settings and purchase of subscriptions and eavis.

If you have an account and log in to us, we will create a temporary cookie to determine if your browser supports using it. This cookie contains no personal information and will disappear as soon as you close your browser. When you sign in, cookies are created that store your login information and choices you made regarding how content should be displayed. Cookies with login information expire after one month, while viewing choices last for one year. If you check "Remember me", your login information will be stored for one month. If you log out of your account, these cookies will disappear.

We also use cookies from third-party vendors: Google Analytics to analyze how we can make the online newspaper better for our users by seeing which issues are most engaging and how our readers seek out the newspaper. This is anonymous information about how the online newspaper is used, how often it is visited and which pages are visited.

All data sent to Google Analytics is anonymized and cannot be traced back to our users. We also use Facebook pixels to automatically update our Facebook page with the latest editions and subscription offers. All data here is anonymized. For more information about Facebook's policies, see here .

Our articles may include embedded content (mainly videos). Embedded content from other sites behaves exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the site from which the embedded content originated. These sites may collect information about you, use cookies, or embed third-party tracking systems and monitor what you do through this embedded content. This also includes tracking your actions through the embedded content if you have an account and are logged into the site.

deletion

If the customer relationship ends, unless the parties agree otherwise, all data of MODERN TIMES will be deleted within 26 months after the customer relationship ends.

All subscribers who have created an account can view, edit and delete their own personal information at any time (except for usernames). Site administrators can also view and edit this information. You can therefore extract the personal information we hold about you. This includes all data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete all personal information we hold about you. This does not include information we are required to store for administrative, legal or security reasons.

In the settings of your browser, you can prevent cookies from being set. It can prevent various features of the page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
