KrFU addresses the fight against bullying

(THIS ARTICLE IS MACHINE TRANSLATED by Google from Norwegian)

We in the Christian People's Party Youth want to fight for good measures, a better everyday life and a safer future for all children and young people who are exposed to the horrific consequences of bullying.
We want a bully representative in all counties. We believe this to be an important step in the fight against bullying. Bullying victims and their parents need someone they can turn to for support and guidance. This person should have bullying as their main focus and be able to conduct attitudinal work aimed at the county schools.
The fight against bullying has always been a matter of heart for KrF and KrFU. Chapter 9a of the Education Act, which came into force in 2003, gives students clear rights. The chapter imposes clear obligations on school staff to intervene against bullying, and breach of duty is punishable. Unfortunately, the law has not been enforced by the intention. KrFU has, since 2006, fought for the introduction of its own independent bullying agent in each county.

Big need. Buskerud has had a bullying agent for three years. When they started, they had 40 individual cases in a year. So far this year, they have already received over 150 cases. This shows that the counties have a great need for professionals who engage in bullying. The bullying officer assists teachers and school leaders who are stuck in bullying cases, the parents of children who are being bullied or bullied, and works with the system to safeguard the student's rights in bullying cases.

Free legal aid. Another measure that can provide more support and security for victims of bullying was proposed by former police chief Inger Grete Lia Stålesen in Fædrelandsvennen 08.05.2015. Stålesen wants all victims of bullying to be granted free legal aid. As of today, free legal aid in the form of free prosecution is in need of proof in compensation cases involving personal injury, which mob cases go under. This means that, as a general rule, only those with income below 246 (single parent) or 000 (for spouses) per year are granted this. Those who have higher income than this, therefore, risk large legal costs if they lose a case against a municipality or county municipality.

A better everyday life. We believe that both bully and granted free trial to all bully victims have several benefits. Bullying over time can do a great deal of mental harm to a person. Many struggle with the aftermath of bullying also as adults, in the form of anxiety, low self-esteem and impaired self-esteem.
A good opportunity to be heard by a competent person who understands the situation and can intervene with necessary measures, can hopefully create a better everyday life for the individual victim of bullying.

We now demand bullying ombudsmen in all counties in Norway.

Granting free litigation to all victims of bullying is also a measure that can be helpful to those affected. Such a measure will strengthen the victims' legal protection, as well as lower the threshold for seeking legal assistance.
Safer future. In addition to Buskerud, there are also bullying ombudsmen in Hordaland, Nordland and Østfold. These were granted support last year. We now demand bullying ombudsmen in all counties in Norway.
In a situation that is terribly difficult, the victim of bullying needs a person who fights their case where they can not do it themselves. We at KrFU want in solidarity with everyone who experiences bullying to make it easier to seek help from competent professionals who can be a great security in the insecurity and insecurity they live in.
